Still no jobs finished (or started) on the allotment yet, looks like they will have to wait till i get back from Cornwall.
Finished the Wedding cake last night. The OH is happy with the result, just a shame about the "little flowers" at the front left, which just fell to a blob...! Never mind, least in know where i went wrong..... 'Not buying one from M&S..!'

Looking forward to Friday and a week down in sunny Cornwall.

I seem to have been very busy lately, yet things still need doing?
I have yet to insulate the green house, make a new mobile hen house, to get the hens clearing the weeds ready for digging.
We have all been out at weekends either walking or biking somewhere. a couple of weekends ago we walked around the Gathurst area along the River Douglas where KK beat his distance record, the walk should have bee around 6 miles, but a few wrong turns and it ended up 9miles, not bad for a 4 year old. We stopped of at the Star Inn, Roby Mill - ealy dinners special - 2 course for £7.95, Fantastic, both quality and quantity. We will be back.

Last weekend i decided that i would make our own wedding cake for the 22nd.
With plent of help from RiverCottage forum it was decided on a traditional fruit cake. this was cooked last weekend and has spent the last 3 days in the freezer. (1 day in the freezer = 1 week maturing, so i've been told).

Saturday i will put the marzipan on and then ice on sunday. Yes i am cheating and are going to use ready rolled of both.

Yesterday i bottled both the Blackberry Whiskey and Elderberry Vodka, which both smelled wonderfull. Lets hope i can keep my hands of the whiskey for atleast a year...!
The Rowan Vodka might end up down the drain as i looks horrible and i descovered i should have frozen the berries first. always next year........
